Chimera Centerstage

Our robot design this season had 3 main components that ultimately helped us score many points

Slides were a big part in our design since they allowed to put pixels and the board and make mosaics. We initially used misumi slides but later used Gobilda's viper slides because they were fast, efficient, and stringing wasn't needed. The slides allowed us to transfer pixels from the intake to the board very fast and swift. Additionally, the slides helped us hang as part of one of the end game tasks.

Slides
The intake of our design helped us take in pixels which then could be used to place on the board. The entire intake mechanism consisted of sushi rollers, rollers, and a ramp. The sushi rollers at the bottom and top were used to intake the pixels onto the top part of the ramp. The rubber rollers also helped move the pixels throughout the intake. Chains were used to spin both the sushi rollers and rubber rollers.

Gripbox
The gripbox was the main part of our design because it was unique and innovative. The gripbox is a combination of a claw and box grip. It had a box design on the outside but on the inside, there was 2 seperate claws to pick up the pixels. The whole mechanism was attached into the sildes to easily be placed onto the board. The pixels are intaked into the claws of the gripbox ready to be used.
